In a recent development that strengthens India's efforts to combat terrorism, America has formally listed ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF), considered to be a proxy of Pakistan based terrorist organizations, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). As reported, the FTO designation was TRF's alleged involvement in the Pahalgam incident. Many in India see this as a significant loss in international diplomacy. TRF is now placed under severe sanctions which will limit their operations and access to global banking systems. The US State Department’s action represents a firm position in the fight against terrorism aimed to disrupt peace in the region and marked a notable turn in international perception of Pakistan's role as a state sponsor of terrorism. After this designation, analysts expect it to be a vital turning point in the effort to further isolate terror networks based in Pakistan and support India’s claims on cross border terrorism. The US resolve on terrorism coming out of Pakistan controlled or supported regions is noticeable especially after the airstrike in Pahalgam. This will further aid Indian efforts in combat diplomacy aimed at terrorism from its neighbouring countries.
