Ortega shared some thoughts on how the new season will focus on the relatable issues within the Addams family, showing the intricacies they will incorporate into the storyline.As she plays the role of the timeless morbid teenager, Ortega has also said how the new season will focus on the mother and daughter relationship of Wednesday and Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Wednesday is traditionally marked by strong and acknowledged differences. Morticia and Wednesday, Ortega said, “sustain a strong familiar bond.” Ortega went on to say, “They’re a very cohesive unit, but they’re also very different from one another and stand out.”The new season will be available on Netflix starting August 6, with Wednesday returning to Nevermore Academy as she continues to deal with new supernatural challenges related to her family history. The 2022 released series which became an instant hit and had undergone tremendous growth will now aim to provide its viewers with new and captivating content after a lengthy pause, which, in part, was due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Ortega expressed her gratitude to the audience for being patient and stated that the team had a strong desire to provide a compelling narrative in the sequel. With the new cast additions, Steve Buscemi will take on the role of Nevermore principal Barry Dort, with Billie Piper as head of music Isadora Capri. They will be joining the returning cast such as Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams).
