When the father-in-law was not able to survive the grief, there were two funeral processions leaving the same house in 2 days

A sensitive and heart-touching incident of relation and attachment has happened in the village of Basni Manana in Jodhpur district which has made the entire area emotional. The deaths of a father-in-law and a daughter-in-law in the same family at a short distance of two days from each other have made the entire village grieve. The 95-year-old Amrit Singh, a resident of the village, was ill for some time and died at around 6 pm on 11 May. Family members say that his daughter-in-law Manju Kanwar, 47, treated her father-in-law like a father, served him like her own daughter and looked after him as his daughter did. When the daughter-in-law, Manju Kanwar, heard about the death of her father-in-law, she was so shocked that she started crying continuously due to stress. Meanwhile, she fell sick and suffered a brain hemorrhage, and after her condition worsened, she was taken to MDM Hospital in Jodhpur where she died during treatment in the afternoon of 12 May. When the procession and cremation of the father-in-law, Amrit Singh, were done in the morning of 12 May, then on the afternoon of the same day news of the daughter-in-law Manju Kanwar's death reached home, and her funeral procession was taken out on 13 May. With the funeral procession leaving the house on two consecutive days, the whole village became emotional and shed tears. Villagers said Manju Kanwar was very responsible and friendly; she behaved well with her family and the villagers. Family members said that both father-in-law and daughter-in-law were extremely close, and they considered each other like father and daughter.Manju Kanwar's parents live in village Dhurasani in Pali district; his brother Narayan Singh and Rajendra Singh live in Sundar Nagar, Pali. The sister's brothers' families also broke down at the thought that she had been speaking to them just 2 days back. Family members said that Manju Kanwar has 2 sons. The elder, 24-year-old Shyam Singh, is an engineer at a company in Jaipur and 22-year-old Samar Singh is a director in a private school in Pali. The weddings of both the sons are in November 2026. Family members had made many arrangements related to the wedding.Manju Kanwar's elder brother, Narayan Singh, said his daughter Aarti's wedding was performed on November 20, 2025; the sister had come many days in advance to the wedding and also performed dance numbers during the celebrations and then told them in jest that during the boys' weddings in November 2026 they too will have to dance a lot; at that moment the family members were emotional at her remembering that and are now being moved even more so by the thought of that night.
