Eligible families will receive annual coverage of Rs 5 lakh, with the state government absorbing all hospitalization, procedural, pharmaceutical, and post-discharge expenses. Simultaneously, the state has prioritized internal security personnel by extending identical Rs 5 lakh health insurance benefits to over 31,000 Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) volunteers and their dependents, safeguarding approximately 1.55 lakh individuals from unexpected medical crises.Financial Boost and Health Cover for Cooks and Anganwadi WorkersIn a powerful dual welfare push targeting grassroots female workers and school support staff, the Yogi government has delivered substantial benefits under the PM Poshan Yojana. School cooks preparing mid-day meals in council schools have not only been granted the Rs 5 lakh family health insurance cover but have also received a Rs 1,000 hike in their monthly honorarium. Furthermore, Anganwadi workers witnessed their monthly honorarium jump significantly from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000, while helpers saw an increase from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000. Combined with full medical security, these financial enhancements ensure that frontline education and nutrition workers across Uttar Pradesh receive the economic dignity and healthcare access they deserve.
