Yogi government is providing youth with new opportunities to connect with skills, recognition and employment

Lucknow, September 20. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, continuous efforts are being made in Uttar Pradesh to connect youth with employment and self-employment opportunities along with skill training. In this sequence, the IndiaSkills Competition 2026-27 presents an important opportunity for youth interested in participating. The last date for online registration for the competition has been extended to September 22, 2026. The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has appealed to youth to ensure that they complete their registration by the prescribed date.Interested candidates can apply online through the Skill India Digital Portal. In addition, registration can also be completed by scanning the QR code that has been issued. The extension of the deadline will provide more youth across the State with an opportunity to showcase their talent.The IndiaSkills Competition provides youth with a comprehensive platform to demonstrate their vocational and technical proficiency. The competition process begins at the district level and progresses through divisional, State, regional, and national levels. Participants delivering outstanding performances may also get the opportunity to represent the country at the international level. The competition provides participants with opportunities to demonstrate their proficiency in various skill sectors, including Artificial Intelligence, robotics, 3D printing, Internet of Things, drones, coding, welding, beauty, and wellness.Youth who deliver outstanding performances in the competition are awarded prize money along with medals. At the State level, the gold medal winner receives Rs 20,000, the silver medal winner receives Rs 15,000, and the bronze medal winner receives Rs 10,000. At the regional level, the prize amounts are Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000, and Rs 25,000 respectively. At the national level, successful participants receive higher prize amounts along with special recognition.Youth participating in IndiaSkills are provided training according to national and international standards relevant to their respective skills. Efforts are made to enhance the capabilities of participants with the support of prestigious institutions such as IITs and industry experts. Youth delivering outstanding performances at the national level may further get the opportunity to represent India in international competitions such as WorldSkills.This initiative is not limited to competitions alone but also connects youth with new opportunities for skill-based careers. During the IndiaSkills process, trainers and assessors are required. Former national and international winners may get opportunities to work as trainers and assessors. In addition, efforts are also being made to provide opportunities as instructors in ITIs to participants who perform exceptionally well at various levels. According to the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, the IndiaSkills Competition provides youth with an opportunity to identify their talent, develop it in accordance with national and international standards, and move forward towards a skill-based career. With the extension of the registration deadline, more youth will now have the opportunity to participate in it.
