Kepler 70b: A planet hotter than the Sun has been found in space. NASA says that such hot planets have been found very rarely in space. It is so hot that it can be called the second circle of hell. The name of this planet is Kepler 70b. In the language of scientists, it is also called KOI-55b.
What is the temperature?
The temperature of this new planet is about 6800 degrees Celsius (about 12,000 degrees Fahrenheit). Whereas the temperature of the Sun's surface is up to 6000 degrees Celsius. NASA warned that the planet itself is evaporating, and soon it may be completely destroyed.
First, there was a gas shell.
According to scientists, the planet was once a giant ball of gas. But evaporation has dramatically transformed it into a fiery terrestrial sphere. Most of it has evaporated - leaving a solid core. Scientists describe it as a "terrestrial" planet - a rocky world with a composition similar to Earth. Scientists say it will eventually run out of helium and turn into a white dwarf planet.
The planet orbits the Kepler-70 star in the constellation Cygnus. The star is too faint to be seen with the naked eye – but it can be seen with a telescope. The planet was first detected in 2011 – and since then NASA has labeled it a “spooky” world.
very far away
Sadly, it's unlikely we'll ever be able to visit Kepler-70b. At 4,015 light-years from Earth, it would take an extraordinary amount of time to get there. The Apollo spacecraft travels at about 24,500 miles per hour. At that speed, it would take about 965 million years to reach the planet.
