Recently, Donald Trump had threatened to impose a 100 per cent tariff on BRICS. In an appeal made by Trump to the BRICS countries in the past few days, it was said that they should decide that they will not create any new currency against the dollar. Jaishankar said, India has never been in favour of de-dollarisation, at present there is no proposal to start a BRICS currency. BRICS does this to discuss financial transactions... America is our biggest trading partner, we have no interest in weakening the dollar. Jaishankar was addressing the 22nd edition of the Doha Forum panel on the topic 'Conflict Resolution in a New Era'. Qatar's Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thand and Norway's Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide were also present during this time.
