New Delhi:  Indian Test team batsman Sarfaraz Khan's brother Musheer Khan had a car accident on the Purvanchal Express last week. Right-handed batsman and left-arm spinner Musheer was travelling from his hometown Azamgarh to Lucknow for the Irani Cup match against the Rest of India starting on October 1 when he fractured his neck in a serious car accident on the express. He was later admitted to a private hospital in Lucknow and is out of danger and is doing fine.

Nearly a week after the accident, Musheer appeared in public on Sunday and thanked all those who prayed for his recovery. Musheer was travelling with his father Naushad Khan when their car hit a divider and overturned. Due to a neck fracture, Musheer will be out of the field for the next few months and now he will not be available for Mumbai in the Irani Cup and the initial Ranji Trophy matches.

Young batsman Musheer shared a video on his Instagram on Sunday. His father Naushad Khan is also present in this video. Musheer said in the video, “First of all I want to thank Allah for this new life. I am fine now. My father was with me, he is also fine now. I want to thank you all for your prayers.”

Mushir's father Naushad said in the same video, "Good evening... First of all, I want to thank God for this new life. I also want to thank all those people who prayed for us. Our well-wishers, friends, relatives. I am very grateful to all of them. Also, I would like to thank the MCA and BCCI, who are taking very good care. They are going to give updates on what is going to happen in the future. I would also like to say that we should be patient about what we have not got and be grateful for what we have got and that is life."
