New Delhi: The Indian cricket team is currently on an important tour of Australia, where Team India has to play a five-match Test series in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from November 22. The first Test between the two teams will be played at Optus Stadium in Perth. It was being said about Indian captain Rohit Sharma that he would not be able to play in the first Test match to be held in Perth due to personal reasons.
But now after announcing the birth of his child, it seems that the Indian captain will join the team before the Perth Test. Another good thing for India is that along with Rohit, fast bowler Mohammed Shami can also go on the Australia tour.
According to media reports, Mohammed Shami may go to Australia with Rohit Sharma before the first Test in Perth. However, it is not yet decided whether both the players will be able to join the playing eleven of the opening match or not. Shami, who was out for almost a year due to injury, was not included in the team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after not recovering on time.
Mohammed Shami's childhood coach Mohammed Badruddin revealed in a conversation with the Indian Express that the star fast bowler is expected to leave for Australia to join Team India after the second Test match in Adelaide. He said, "He will join the Indian team after the Adelaide (second) Test. Now that he is back and has proven his fitness, taken wickets, he will be important for the team in the second half of the tour,"
Shami has made a strong comeback playing for Bengal against Madhya Pradesh in the 2024 Ranji Trophy. The star fast bowler made a brilliant comeback by taking four wickets and destroying the batting order of Madhya Pradesh. Shami took four wickets for 54 runs in 19 overs. This includes important wickets of Shubham Sharma, Saransh Jain, Kumar Karthikeya, and Kulwant Kejroliya.
Fast bowler Shami continued his strong performance in the second innings as well and took three more wickets. Apart from this, he also made a significant contribution with the bat and scored 37 runs in 36 balls, which included 2 fours and 2 sixes. His all-round performance helped the Bengal team to make a comeback.
