What is the importance of Chhath Puja?

Chhath Puja is considered very important in Sanatan Dharma. Chhath Puja begins with Nahay Khay and on this day, bathing is done in holy water and women observing fast consume food only once a day. After this, the Nirjala fast is observed on Kharna on the second day, and the fast is broken only after offering food to the Sun God. The main day of Chhath Puja is the third day, in which women observe Nirjala fast for the whole day and offer water to the setting sun, which is considered the main ritual of this puja. This is the only festival in which water is offered to the setting sun and he is worshipped. After this, the fast is observed throughout the night on this day and the fast is broken the next day after offering water to the rising sun. According to religious beliefs, observing this fast brings happiness and prosperity to the family and all wishes are fulfilled.
