Avenue Supermarkets, which operates DMart stores, reported an 8% rise in its standalone net profit in the September quarter to Rs 710.37 crore as against Rs 658.54 crore in the same period last year.
Revenue from operations stood at Rs 14,050.32 crore, up 14% from Rs 12,307.72 crore recorded by the company in the same period last year.
However, profit after tax for the reported quarter was down over 12% from Rs 812.45 crore recorded by the company in the April-June quarter. Meanwhile, revenue witnessed a sequential increase over Rs 13,711.87 crore posted in Q1FY25.
On a consolidated basis, profit for the period stood at Rs 659 crore, up 5.6% from Rs 624 crore recorded in the same period a year ago. Consolidated revenue for the reported quarter stood at Rs 14,444 crore, up 14% from Rs 12,624 crore recorded in Q2FY24.
Other key points
Earnings before interest, tax, and depreciation (EBITDA) stood at Rs 1,105 crore, up 10.3% over the same period last year. The company said that 6 stores were opened in the second quarter of FY25.
PAT margin stood at 5% in Q2FY25 as against 5.3% in Q2FY24. Basic earnings per share (EPS) for the second quarter of FY25 stood at Rs 10.92 as against Rs 10.12 in the second quarter of FY24.
Total revenue for H1FY25 stood at Rs 27,762 crore as against Rs 23,892 crore in the same period last year. EBITDA stood at Rs 2,326 crore in H1FY25 as against Rs 2,038 crore during H1FY24. EBITDA margin stood at 8.4% in H1FY25, while it was 8.5% in H1FY24.
