Student Sexual Assault: A case that puts the relationship between teacher and student to shame has come to light from America. A school teacher in Wisconsin has been accused of sexually assaulting her 11-year-old student, sending him more than 33,000 obscene messages and having sex with him.
During the hearing of this case, when the teacher's messages were read aloud in the court, the accused, 24-year-old Madison Bergman, bowed her head in shame. A teacher of the school testified in court that Bergman had admitted to having physical contact with the boy.
The court considered the evidence sufficient.
At the same time, defense lawyer Joseph Tamburino tried to emphasize this point, saying, 'They talk a lot about kissing on the cheek in the messages. But nothing like that has happened.' However, the judge ruled that the evidence was sufficient to establish probable cause for the charges.
How did the matter come to light?
The case came to light when the 11-year-old victim's mother heard her talking to Bergman on the phone and read messages sent to him. When police searched her classroom at school, they found a folder with the victim's name on it. Inside the folder were handwritten notes that mentioned their physical relationship, including kissing and fondling.
He resigned from his position at the school.
In her notes, Bergman told him she loved him, wanted to kiss him, he turned her on, and she was attracted to him, the court was told. Bergman, who was soon to be married, resigned from her position at River Crest Elementary School after the allegations became public in May.
Fiancée cancels the wedding again.
The former teacher has denied all the allegations, but if she is found guilty, she could face a long prison sentence. The accused teacher was taken into custody after the case came to light in May. After the incident, her fiancé Sam Hickman called off the wedding.
