Russia and Ukraine War: More than 1000 days have passed since the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, but still this conflict has not reached any conclusion. Both the countries are constantly firing ammunition at each other, in which many soldiers have been killed so far. North Korea, which supported Russia against Ukraine, has also suffered a major setback from this war. Local media claimed on Sunday that 500 North Korean soldiers were killed in Ukraine's missile attack. The Russia-Ukraine War, which began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has become the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II. This war has had a profound impact on global politics, economy,, and security.
North Korea sent troops
Nearly 500 North Korean soldiers were killed in a missile attack by Kyiv in Russia's western Kursk region. According to news agency Yonhap, a Ukrainian media outlet has made this claim. Citing defense news publisher Global Defense Corporation, RBC Ukraine said that the North Korean soldiers were killed due to the 'Storm Shadow missile attack on the Kursk region'. South Korea and the US have been claiming that North Korea has sent more than 10,000 soldiers to help Russia in the war against Ukraine.
Russia provided anti-air missiles.
South Korea's top security adviser also claimed on November 22 that Moscow has provided Pyongyang (North Korea) with anti-air missiles and air defense equipment in exchange for Russia's help in the war against Ukraine. According to Yonhap news agency, National Security Advisor Shin Won-sik said, 'Russia is believed to have provided equipment and anti-air missiles to strengthen Pyongyang's weak air defense system.'
Russia made this promise to North Korea.
Shin said, "After the failure of North Korea's military spy satellite launch on May 27, Russia declared its intention to help (North Korea) with satellite-related technology, and it has also reportedly supplied various military technologies." He added, "We believe that economic assistance has also been provided in various forms." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed earlier this month that there were many casualties among North Korean soldiers involved in the battle in Kursk.
