New Delhi: After a 2-0 clean sweep in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, Team India has now made a winning start to the T20 series. After registering a spectacular victory in the first T20 match in Gwalior, the Indian team will now play the second T20 match in Delhi on October 9. The team has been performing brilliantly since Gautam Gambhir became the head coach. The credit for Team India's recent performance is being given to head coach Gautam Gambhir. However, former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar is very unhappy with this. Gavaskar termed it as Gambhir's bootlickers.

In fact, Team India won the Kanpur Test match in three days. Only 35 overs were played on the first day of this rain-affected match, while not a single ball could be bowled on the second and third day. Despite this, India adopted an aggressive attitude and played brilliantly on the fourth and fifth day and won the match. Many people were giving the credit for this victory to head coach Gautam Gambhir, on which Sunil Gavaskar got angry.

Gavaskar expressed disappointment at the credit given to Gambhir for India's strategy in the Kanpur Test. In his column for 'Sportstar', Gavaskar said, 'We have seen in the last few years that Rohit is batting aggressively and encouraging his team to do the same. Gambhir has been coaching for only a few months, so giving him credit for this is a high level of flattery.'

He further said, "England's batting changed completely under the leadership of Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, but Gambhir has rarely batted like McCullum. If the credit for Team India's victory goes to anyone, it goes only to Rohit and no one else." Gavaskar credited the International Cricket Council for starting the World Test Championship and said that if there were no WTC points, any team would have considered drawing this match.
