Bulawayo: Riding on explosive knocks from Usman Khan and Tayyab Tahir and a brilliant performance by its spinners, Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 57 runs in the first T20 International in Bulawayo.
The Pakistan team has entered this series without star players like Babar Azam, captain Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah. Salman Agha was captaining the Pakistan team in this match. After the victory in the first match, Pakistan has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series.
Pakistan won the toss and batted first and scored a strong score of 165 runs for 4 wickets and then bowled out Zimbabwe for 108 runs in 15.3 overs. Captain Sikandar Raza scored the highest 39 runs for the host team. He hit four fours in 28 balls. Apart from him, wicketkeeper-batsman Tadiwanashe Marumani contributed 33 runs. Apart from these two batsmen, no other Zimbabwean batsman could even reach double figures.
For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem took three wickets each while Haris Rauf took two and Jahandad Khan got one wicket.
Earlier, Pakistan set a target of 166 runs for Zimbabwe to win. Usman Khan and Tayyab Tahir scored 39-39 runs for the visiting team while Irfan Khan scored an unbeaten 27 and Saim Ayub scored 24 runs. Apart from them, Umer Yusuf contributed 16 runs and captain Salman Aga contributed 13 runs.
