The Champions Trophy is to be played in Pakistan in the year 2025. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is working hard on its preparation. But India has become the biggest problem for it. Because the Indian government, keeping in mind the security of its team, does not want to send them to Pakistan. If the Indian team does not go to Pakistan to play in the Champions Trophy, then the Pakistani Cricket Board will suffer a huge financial loss.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is mentally prepared that India may refuse to come to play in the Champions Trophy but it is not ready to take the final to be held on March 9 out of Lahore, even if India qualifies for it. The issue of the Champions Trophy final may also come up in the meeting of the members of the Board of the International Cricket Council to be held in Dubai from 18 to 21 October.
A PCB source said that the PCB's first choice and priority is that the entire tournament be held in Pakistan. But the board is also mentally prepared for the fact that the Indian government will not send their team here and India's matches will be held in the UAE. He said that PCB wants the final to be played in Lahore. Even if India reaches the final, PCB would want to play these matches at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.
Bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan has been suspended since the 2008 Mumbai terror attack in which 175 people were killed and around 300 were injured. The BCCI may request the ICC to hold the tournament on a hybrid model in which its matches can be played in Sri Lanka or Dubai.
When did India last visit Pakistan?
The last time the Indian team visited Pakistan was in 2008. India played in the Asia Cup in 2008. Where it had to face defeat at the hands of Pakistan. India has not visited Pakistan for the last 16 years. The Indian team is going to prolong the wait of playing a match in Pakistan.
