Dubai: Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting believes that India's fast bowling attack leader Jasprit Bumrah is the best bowler to play across formats in the last five or six years. Ponting said that there may be some concerns about Bumrah's long-term play but he has always made a strong comeback from injuries.
Ponting said on 'ICC Review', "I have been saying this for a long time that he is probably the best bowler in world cricket for the last five or six years, playing in many formats. A few years ago when he got injured, there was some fear that 'will he be able to perform like before. But I think he has really performed better after coming back.'
The former Australia captain said, "The best way to always get the right information about these players is to ask (other) players. And when you talk to the opposition batsmen about him (Bumrah), the answer is always 'No, he is a nightmare!' You never know what is going to happen."
He said, "Some ball will swing, some will seam, he will bowl in-swing, he will bowl out-swing."
