New Delhi. Babar Azam, who was dropped from the Test team due to poor form, is now ready to show his form with the white ball for Pakistan. The Pakistan team will tour Australia for a limited-overs series and this former captain believes that this is a good opportunity to prepare for the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan next year and the team will try to take full advantage of it.

Babar Azam told Fox Sports, 'We are looking forward to the Champions Trophy as we have to play 10 to 15 ODIs. We will try our best to take full advantage of this series and other series. We have good players, both senior and junior, and we are very excited to play here.'

Pakistan will play ODIs against Australia in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth before playing three T20 matches next week. Babar Azam said, ‘I have played a lot of cricket here and I like playing here because the ball comes very well. I just trust myself and try to implement my plans. If you are set here, a lot of runs can be scored here.’

The right-handed batsman, who has scored an average of 67.33 against Australia in ODIs, expressed his views on the coaching of Jason Gillespie.

Babar said that his coaching played an important role in helping Pakistan win the recent Test series against England 2-1 at home. He has brought an optimistic mindset to the team.

The former Pakistani captain further said, 'He brings a lot of positive energy. We have discussed a lot of good things and he understands the conditions here very well, because he has played a lot of cricket here. This has helped me and everyone a lot.'
