PM Modi Donald Tusk Meeting: Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk has made a big statement about India's role in the Russia-Ukraine war. After the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, the Polish Prime Minister said that India can play an important role in the speedy and just end of the conflict in Ukraine.

PM Modi is going on a historic visit to Kyiv (Ukraine). After talks with PM Modi, Tusk said that he and the Prime Minister of India have clearly expressed their stand on the issues that are currently a cause of concern for the whole world.

Tusk said, 'I am very happy that the Prime Minister (Modi) has expressed his personal commitment to a peaceful, just, and early end to the war. We both agree that India can play an important and positive role here (in Ukraine).'

Tusk said that this declaration holds special importance because Prime Minister Modi will visit Kyiv in a few hours. He said, 'Regarding this visit, we all agree that it can be of historic importance.'

At the same time, PM Modi said that India strongly believes that no problem can be solved on the battlefield and it (India) is ready to provide all possible cooperation to restore peace and stability in the region. Tusk said that history has taught both nations how important it is to respect rules, borders, territorial integrity, the sovereignty of countries, and the rule of law.

'The whole world praises India'

He said, 'The whole world admires India for the continued democratic nature of its (India's) governments.' He said that this is something that was not common in that part of the world. Tusk also said that Poland and India have taken their relations to the level of strategic partnership.

He said, "These are not just 'words'. At its core is our determination and readiness to cooperate in many areas." Prime Minister Modi will travel to Kyiv from Poland on Thursday night by 'Rail Force One' train, which will take about 10 hours. The return journey will also be of the same duration.

After Moscow, now PM Modi is going to Ukraine

Modi's visit to Kyiv comes nearly six weeks after his high-profile trip to Moscow, which was criticized by the US and some of its Western allies. India has not yet condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and has been calling for a resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.
