Doctors have once again gone on strike over the rape-murder case of a female doctor in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. This case had not even cooled down when a case of rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl came to light in Kultuli. However, Mamata's different attitude is being seen regarding this case. The Chief Minister of West Bengal on Sunday directed the police to register an FIR under POCSO in this case and the culprits should be given the death penalty within 3 months.
Crime has no color, caste, or religion: Mamata.
Mamata Banerjee was addressing the people at Kolkata Police Bodyguard Lines after inaugurating several Durga Puja pandals through online mediums. Here she said that crime has no color, caste, or religion. Whatever the crime, the culprits will definitely be punished.
The culprits should be punished within 3 months.
The Chief Minister said, I want the police to register an FIR under the POCSO Act in the Kultali case, and the culprits should be awarded the death penalty within three months. She said that crime is a crime; it has no religion or caste. Strict action will be taken against the criminals.
Mamata objected to the 'media trial' in rape cases and said that it should be stopped as it may hamper the investigation.
The girl was found soaked in blood.
Let us tell you that a day earlier on Saturday, the body of a 10-year-old girl was found in Kultali of South 24 Parganas. A relative of the girl said that the girl went missing on Friday evening while returning from tuition. When she was not found till Saturday morning, the police started investigating.
