Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has registered a big victory in the assembly elections. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance took a lead in 57 out of 81 seats. He credited his victory to his wife Kalpana Soren and strong teamwork. Hemant said that this time the election was challenging, but they won it unitedly.
Appreciated the hard work of wife Kalpana Soren
Hemant Soren praised his wife Kalpana's hard work and said that during the last Lok Sabha elections, when he was in jail, Kalpana worked like a 'one-man army'. This time, both of them worked together, which resulted in victory. Their strategy and groundwork won the trust of the voters.
Hemant's reply to BJP's issues
BJP had raised the issue of Bangladeshi infiltration loudly in its campaign. On this, Hemant said that the relationship between leaders and the public should be like that of a teacher and student. He focused on understanding the needs of the voters and solving their issues. In the last five years, his party built a close relationship with the public, which helped in the victory.
The toughest choice ever
When asked if he felt the pressure to win, Hemant called it the toughest election he had ever faced. He said, "There was a lot of pressure on us, but the team performed brilliantly. We focused on our positive work while highlighting the shortcomings of the BJP. This was the key to our victory."
BJP had called it a 'Bunty and Babli' pair
Opposition party BJP was mocking Hemant-Kalpana and calling them a 'Bunty and Babli' pair. But, they have given a befitting reply to the criticism by leading the 'India' alliance and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to success in the state. Both Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife MLA Kalpana Soren held about 200 election rallies after the announcement of elections. Kalpana entered politics after her husband's arrest earlier this year.
