Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the Indian government was not informed about the issue in advance. He said, this is a legal matter involving private companies and individuals and the US Department of Justice. There are established procedures and legal methods in such cases, we believe they will be followed.
We have not received any requests from the US.
Jaiswal was responding to a question on the allegations leveled against Adani and others during his weekly press conference. On the question of whether the US has sent any summons or warrant on the Adani case, he said that India has not received any such request.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said, that that any request made by a foreign government for the service of summons or arrest warrant is part of mutual legal assistance. Such requests are examined based on merits. He said, we have not received any request from the US in this matter.
India is not a part of this case.
Randhir Jaiswal said, we have not received any request from the US side in this matter. This is a matter that concerns a private individual and private entities. The Indian government is not a part of it in any way at this time.
