Sarai Kale Khan Chowk New Name: The name of Sarai Kale Khan Chowk in the country's capital Delhi has been changed. Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan ISBT Chowk will now be known as Birsa Munda Chowk. The central government has taken this decision on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda . Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the name change. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the name change at a program in Delhi, where Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the statue of tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of his birth anniversary 'Tribal Pride Day'.

Now it will be called Birsa Munda Chowk

Khattar said, 'I am announcing today that the big square located outside the ISBT bus stand here will be named after Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Seeing this statue and the name of that square, not only the citizens of Delhi but also the people coming to the international bus stand will definitely be inspired by his life.' Unveiling the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary, Amit Shah praised his contribution to social reforms and his courage to stand against 'conversion'.

Amit Shah remembered his contribution

Am.it Shah said that the country will always be grateful to Birsa Munda for his freedom struggle and movements against conversion. Shah said that when the entire country and two-thirds of the world waswereled by the British, he showed courage to stand against conversion. He said, 'We can divide the life of Lord Birsa Munda into two parts. One, the protection of tribal culture an,d second, the passion to make the supreme sacrifice for the freedom of the country. At the age of 25, he wrote such a saga which is remembered even after 150 years.'

Unveiling of a statue weighing 3 thousand kilos

The statue of Munda unveiled by Shah on Friday weighs about 3,000 kg. This day is also celebrated as 'Tribal Pride Day'. This statue has been prepared by two experienced craftsmen from West Bengal, who have ensured that there is a sense of liveliness in its form.
