Why is Vijayadashami celebrated?
As you all know, this festival comes on Dashami every year after the nine-day Navratri. On this day, effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran, and Meghnad are burnt at various places across the country. It is believed in Hinduism that Lord Rama killed Ravana on the day of Dussehra. Therefore, this day is celebrated as a celebration of Lord Rama's victory.
